WG-POSITION WA3 “Requirements for the Next Generation of Ethernet APL Field Devices and Components” has been published

Ethernet-APL is a key technology for the digitalization of process industries. Today, there is already a limited number of Ethernet-APL devices available that allows the realization of Ethernet-APL-based installations even today. Nonetheless, for a broad future acceptance in the market, the full portfolio of devices must be available including also advanced features for safety and security.

This NAMUR Position Paper summarizes requirements for the next generation of Ethernet-APL devices and components from the end user’s perspective.
